Dr. Jasvinder Singh is a Board certified general surgeon with fellowship training in colorectal surgery, who brings a unique combination of advanced surgical training, research expertise, and a deep commitment to quality and patient safety.
Dr. Singh earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, one of India's premier medical institutions, where he also completed his initial general surgery residency. He then trained in general surgery in the United States, beginning with an internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and completing his residency at New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center. He went on to a post-doctoral research fellowship in surgical oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by fellowship training in colorectal surgery at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and the University of Illinois in Chicago. To further deepen his expertise in healthcare delivery, Dr. Singh earned a Master of Public Health in Quality and Patient Safety from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at major national conferences including the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and SAGES. His research spans colorectal cancer, retroperitoneal sarcoma, surgical quality improvement, and novel diagnostic technologies including hyperspectral imaging.
Dr. Singh treats a comprehensive range of conditions, including the following:
Colorectal Conditions: Colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, rectal prolapse, anorectal disorders including hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistula-in-ano, and perirectal abscesses, as well as complex colorectal conditions requiring minimally invasive surgical approaches.
Endoscopy and Screening: Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, colon polyp removal, colorectal cancer screening and upper endoscopy.
General Surgical Conditions: Hernias (inguinal, ventral, incisional, and complex abdominal wall defects), gallbladder disease, appendicitis, and small bowel disorders.
Obesity and Metabolic Health: Evaluation and medical management of obesity and obesity-related conditions.
