Welcome to the

Complex Foregut

Center of Excellence

Complex Foregut at the Institute for Specialized Surgery is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of advanced esophageal, gastric, and upper gastrointestinal conditions. Our team of thoracic and general surgeons, gastroenterologists, and specialized physicians uses advanced imaging, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and evidence-based care to manage complex foregut disorders.

Foregut conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hiatal hernias, esophageal motility disorders, and Barrett’s esophagus, can significantly impact digestion, nutrition, and quality of life. Many patients have overlapping gastrointestinal or systemic conditions that require careful, multidisciplinary management. At the Complex Foregut Center, we develop individualized treatment plans focused on restoring function, relieving symptoms, and improving overall well-being.
