Institute Status & Accreditation
A Commitment to Patients, Progress, and Public Trust
The use of the word “institute” when describing a medical organization carries with it the expectation of multiple levels of expertise, ongoing research, the presenced of clinical trials, an educational mission, a philanthropic component, and more than just a few health care providers. Because the term Institute carries a well-established expectation of formal accreditation, the State of New York restricts that title to organizations that have met the criteria established by the State’s Department of Education. The Institute for Specialized Surgery is very proud of its NY Department of Education certification. It takes its responsibility to the public very seriously having been designated as such and continiously strives to exceed all criteria for a medically focused Institute.
