Experience and Expertise

Arthur Jenkins, M.D

Dr. Jenkins is a board-certified neurosurgeon, and expert in complex and minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery. He left the full-time faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2018 to found Jenkins NeuroSpine in pursuit of every patient getting the best opportunity for recovery. His world-class medical practice uses the latest in technology and evidence-based medicine. He developed minimally invasive spinal surgical techniques, and endoscopic spinal surgery skills to develop novel treatments for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), Bertolotti’s Syndrome, Coccydynia, spinal tumors (metastatic and primary), artificial disks, thoracic disk herniations, as well as less invasive ways of treating hard-to-approach problems like cranio-cervical instability, far-lateral lumbar disk herniations, as well as mastery of “simpler” procedures like diskectomies, fusions, deformity corrections, and treatments of spinal stenosis. Every condition, every treatment can be understood better, and Dr. Jenkins never accepts the status quo.

He chooses the best approach, finding the LEAST invasive way of giving the MOST effective treatment, instead of treating patients like they are just another cog in the machine of the hospital-based practice. His “Concierge-like” practice gives patients the time and attention to treat them as individuals, understand their issues, and manage the entire process from diagnosis, management non-invasively, to surgical and post-surgical recovery phases.

Dr. Jenkins is on Every Relevant “Top Doctor” list a spine surgeon can be on: Castle Connolly (“Top Doc in Metro NY”, “Top Doc in America”, and “Top Doc for Cancer”), New York Magazine, Vitals (“top 1%”), among others. He is an Honorary NYPD Police Surgeon, and is the spine surgeon other spine surgeons call when they need help. He should be your first and last call for spinal care. See his website for more details of his training, research, patient testimonials, or for more insight.
